Season Summaries Season 1 (2000) The first season brings Meet the Roberts: Malcolm, a reasonably middle child prodigy, who tries to find himself in an abusive family and at school, struggling with advanced level classes. His parents Hal and Lois are both a bit off the wall and lovable, while Lois especially likes to assert her dominance over the home. Older brother Francis is transferred to military school because of his refusal to listen to anyone; Reese follows him in terms of mischievously; and Dewey, being the youngest, seems to be most often ignored. The sitcom’s jokes course around Malcolm’s efforts to make rationality meet up with the absurdity of his family. Main events are episodes connected with Malcolm and his class of intelligent students or Krelboyne and his friend Stevie who has asthma and uses a wheelchair. It is here in season 1 that we get a sense of the humor and focus on family that runs throughout the show.
Season 2 (2000–01) Malcolm is also becoming more conscious about being smart as the second season goes by and how it plays out in the social prism.
