The Birth of the Olympic Rings
In 1913, Pierre de Coubertin designed the Olympic rings. These five interlocked rings represent the continents united by the spirit of sportsmanship in the Olympic Games.
From 1924 on, host cities got their own emblems alongside the rings. showcased the city's unique culture, like the 1924 Paris emblem featuring a ship on the Seine.
