Early Life and Background
Mike Waltz was born in Boynton Beach, Florida. He grew up in Jacksonville by his single mother, a dedicated individual who instilled in him strong principles. Waltz is the son and grandson of Navy Chiefs and continued the family traditions of service to the country.

Education and Military Beginnings
Graduated with Honors at Virginia Military Institute, Mike entered into a 27-year military career. Commissioned as an Army lieutenant upon graduation, Mike attended Ranger School and was assigned to the elite Green Berets. As a Special Forces officer, Mike made several combat tours in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Africa, earning four Bronze Stars, two of which were for Valor.
