carry on luggage

Carry-On Luggage Guidelines for American Airlines-Be aware of what you can bring with you. Some items are only allowed in your carry-on bag, while others must be packed in your checked luggage. Make sure you’re clear on where to pack these restricted items and whether they’re permitted in your carry-on.

Restricted items

Here is a table summarizing the carry-on and personal item allowances:

ItemDetails
Personal ItemMust fit under the seat. Dimensions: 18 x 14 x 8 inches (45 x 35 x 20 cm).
Items Exempt from Personal/Carry-On– Diaper bags (1 per child)
– Breast pump
– Small, soft-sided cooler of breast milk
– Child safety seats, strollers, medical or mobility devices
Carry-On Bag AllowanceMaximum dimensions: 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm). Must fit in overhead bin or under the seat.
Soft-Sided Garment BagMaximum size: 51 inches (130 cm) in length + width + height.
Musical InstrumentsMust fit in the overhead bin or under the seat.
Traveling with Musical InstrumentsMust be stored in the overhead bin or under the seat.
Valet Bags (Regional Flights)If the carry-on is larger than personal item dimensions, valet bag is required. Free bag check at the gate.
Important NoteRemove batteries, electronic cigarettes, and other restricted items from checked bags.
Carry on Bag size
  1. Personal Item Dimensions
Every traveler can carry one bag or any other item that the airline considers as a personal item, to be stored at the passenger’s feet or behind the seat. The personal items should not exceed the following sizes: length 45cm, width 35cm, height 20cm (18 x 14 x 8 inches). Regular paraphernallia tends to encompass handbags, small purses, backpacks or briefcases and computer bags. Any bag with a dimension larger than stated above will not be accepted as a personal item and may require checking in.
  2. Carry-On Bag Dimensions
It is to be placed in the overhead bin and should not exceed the allowed size of 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm). Another important thing is to ensure you do not put your carry-on in the category that makes it get sent to the gate, the best thing is to use the airport sizing tool to ensure this does not happen. Luggage that exceeds these measurements will have to be checked.
  3. Valet Bags for Regional Flights-If your travel involves regional American Eagle® flights and where space for overhead bins is extremely small you will have to ‘check-in’ your carry-on bag. However, if the bag exceeds the carrier’s personal item size, it will be allowed at the gate with a fee for checking. For your luggage, it will be offloaded from the coach immediately you set off the vehicle.
  4. Moving Musical Instruments
Musical instruments, which can easily fit into the overhead compartment or under the seat in front, can also form part of your hand luggage. If your instrument is larger than the approved size, you will require special consideration.
  5. TSA Standards for Liabilities and Dutiable Merchandise
When it comes to liquids in your carry-on bag, you can only transport them according to Trusted Shipper Access TSA regulations. It is accepted to bring duty-free liquids provided the liquids are packed in a tamper-evident bag. If in doubt about anything containing a liquid, it is recommended to look at the TSA regulations or contact the TSA before the travel.

Here’s a table summarizing valet bags, carry-on pets, liquids, and related policies:

ItemDetails
Valet Bags (Regional Flights)– For regional flights on American Eagle® planes with limited overhead bin space.
– If your carry-on is larger than personal item dimensions, valet your bag at the gate.
– Free bag check at the gate. You’ll receive your bag on the jetbridge after exiting the plane.
Important Note– Remove batteries, electronic cigarettes, and other restricted items from checked bags.
Carry-On Pets– Review the airline’s policy for specific guidelines, limitations, and restrictions regarding carry-on pets.
Liquids– TSA allows duty-free liquids in a security tamper-evident bag through security.
– Contact TSA if unsure about any liquid item.

‘Carry-On’ Review: Amplifying Travel Nightmares A Thrilling Christmas Movie 2024

Carry-On-Elevating Travel Distress-Rated PG-13 for violence and language. Watch on Netflix.

An Exciting Holiday Film
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Carry-On NEVER misses the spirit of the gift-giving season and offers a paranoid action flick set during the festive days that may well be called Die Hard equivalent. By choosing a Los Angeles airport as a backdrop of bare actions, the movie skillfully combines festive chaos and thriller emotions for the spectators.

The Narrative
Ethan Kopek is T.S.A agent played by Taron Egerton, the man who finds himself trapped to help a terrorist in conveying a dangerous package in a flight going east. Kopek, who has been restraining his desire to become a policeman for years, becomes involved in parody and battle for life. Things turn intolerable when the abductor makes the threat of massive destruction that makes Kopek get to the tough moral gray areas.

5 Best CHRISTMAS MOVIES on Netflix

On their event, the character developments are predictable.
While the plot of these series is diverse, the character development is more or less typical. Adding to the excitement is the fact that Kopek is actually married to the stunning Sofia Carson who is pregnant with their first child. Still, suspense is made the focus of the movie, with T.J. Fixman managing to serve up a nicely rolling script for the nearly two hours of the movie.

A Menacing Villain
As for the main terrorist, played by Jason Bateman, the actor whose previous works are filled with humorous charm, does not leave any chance for laughter – the feeling of spectator’s fear is atmospheric. Unlike some performers who try to bring comedy into sinister roles, Bateman does not try to soften his character and thus increases the thriller’s suspense.

Remarkable Action Sequences
The movie features quite impressive scenes like shooting withnamen Clarke confronting each other while in a rushing car proving Collet-Serra a master of action. A simulated airport environment is memorable to counterbalance the observed mayhem around the holiday period and to polish it up with a cinematic sheen.

Conclusion
Carry-On does little to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the thriller genre, but it is a taut thriller that has a lot of energy, engaging performances, and well-choreographed action scenes. Certainly those that appreciate suspense that has their pulses racing, will not be disappointed.

Here’s a table summarizing the key details of the movie Carry On (2024):

“OpenAI Whistleblower Suchir Balaji Found Dead at age 26”

Suchir Balaji, a former OpenAI researcher, was found dead in his San Francisco apartment, sparking widespread attention due to his earlier claims about OpenAI’s copyright violations.

Balaji departed from OpenAI earlier this year and had publicly expressed concerns regarding the company’s alleged infringement of U.S. copyright laws in the development of its widely used ChatGPT chatbot.

David Serrano Sewell, executive director of San Francisco’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, stated in an email to CNBC that the cause of death has been ruled as suicide.

News of Balaji’s death was first reported by the San Jose Mercury News

SAN FRANCISCO –Officials this week attest to a former researcher at the OpenAI company, who blew the whistle on the now-popular artificial intelligence firm under several lawsuits concerning its operations.

Suchir Balaji, 26 years, was found dead in his Buchanan Street apartment on November 26, according to the San Francisco police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The officers were called to the Lower Haight residence at around 1 p.m. that day as the caller asked them to conduct a welfare check, this was the comment of the police spokesperson.

Balaji, who was formerly employed by OpenAI, was instrumental in curating and assembling the large volumes of online data used to train the ChatGPT chatbot offered by the startup. The cause of death was determined by the medical examiner to have been suicide and the police authorities said this week that there is to date no indication that the death was anything other than that.

Balaji allegedly had the kind of information expected to be vital in the ongoing lawsuits against the San Francisco-based company.

His death took place three months after the latter publicly criticized OpenAI for violating the U.S. copyright while inventing ChatGPT – a generative AI that has attracted hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

A series of legal actions were made by authors, software developers, and journalists who accused OpenAI of utilizing their content contravening copyright law in order to train its model and thereby boost chatgpt’s value to over $150 billion after its public debut in late 2022.

Sharing new research, models, and datasets from Meta (artificial Intelligence) FAIR 2024

Sharing new research, models, and datasets from Meta (artificial Intelligence) FAIR 2024

Meta’s Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team has launched several innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing AI development, with a particular emphasis on large language models, multi-modal capabilities, and tools designed to identify AI-generated content.

Key Highlights

Meta FAIR is unveiling a series of new research contributions that showcase our recent advancements in the development of agents, as well as improvements in robustness, safety, and machine learning architectures.

The research we are presenting supports our ambition to achieve advanced machine intelligence and includes Meta Motivo, a foundational model for managing the behavior of virtual embodied agents, and Meta Video Seal, an open-source model for video watermarking.

Our objective is to democratize access to cutting-edge technologies that reshape our interactions with the physical environment. To this end, we are dedicated to nurturing a collaborative and open ecosystem that promotes progress and discovery.

As we strive towards the realization of advanced machine intelligence, we are eager to share our advancements with the research community, enabling them to build upon our findings. Today, we are pleased to present some of the latest research, code, models, and datasets from Meta Fundamental AI Research (FAIR). The materials we are sharing today concentrate on developing more capable agents, enhancing robustness and safety, and innovating architectures that allow models to learn new information more efficiently and expand beyond existing limitations.

In this release, we are glad to provide a demonstration and code for Meta Video Seal, an open source model to video watermarking considering at the scene of the success of Meta Audio Seal which we introduced year before. Furthermore, we are including an array of other resources such as a basic reference model for the control of behavior of virtual embodied agents, a technique for boosting layers of memory to accommodate increased factual data, and code for increasing the social component of intelligence of models. You can get plenty of information from this post as this post includes nine projects and artifacts, and all of them are ready for downloading and no time is needed.

This effort speaks to our continued dedication towards increasing openness and replicability of work we do within the community. Our aim while sharing the findings of our first-phase studies is that this will be of help to interested researchers to build on it to contribute to the positive growth of AI. We are already looking forward to the use that the community will make of these new resources and also the continuing debate about how AI can be responsibly developed and used to the benefit of everyone.

Meta Motivo

Meta Motivo is the name of the developed behavioral foundation model that was created to regulate the actions of a virtual humanoid agent to perform complex tasks.

This model is built using an algorithm that employs an unlabeled motion dataset to accomplish unsupervised reinforcement learning to enable the learning of human-like behaviors while keeping the model’s ability to perform zero-shot inference intact. One of the most important technical enhancements of our algorithm for learning a representation is that it can simultaneously encode state, motion, and reward into a shared latent space. As a result, Meta Motivo can provide efficient whole-body control solutions for a broad range of problems related to motion tracking, reaching for target positions, and maximizing reward, without the need for additional training or planning.

Meta Video Seal

AI tools have immense potential to connect the world, but implementing safeguards is essential to prevent misuse, such as imitation and manipulation. Post-hoc watermarking plays a vital role in ensuring content traceability and accountability.

Meta’s Video Seal introduces a watermarking technique that embeds an imperceptible watermark (optionally containing a hidden message) within videos. This watermark can later be extracted to verify the video’s origin. The technique is robust against common video alterations, including blurring, cropping, and compression algorithms widely used in online content sharing.

To encourage transparency and collaboration, Meta is releasing the Video Seal model under an open license, along with accompanying resources like a research paper, training and inference code, and an interactive demo for hands-on exploration of the model.

Chatbot ‘encouraged teen to kill parents over screen time limit’ 2024

Chatbot ‘encouraged teen to kill parents over screen time limit’ 2024

Chatbot reportedly urged a teenager to harm their parents over a disagreement about screen time restrictions .A lawsuit filed in a Texas court alleges that a chatbot advised a 17-year-old that killing his parents was a “reasonable response” to their restrictions on his screen time.

Two families are suing Character.ai, asserting that the chatbot “poses a clear and present danger” to youth by “actively promoting violence.” Character.ai, a platform enabling users to create and interact with digital personas, is already facing legal scrutiny related to the suicide of a teenager in Florida.

The lawsuit also names Google as a defendant, claiming that the tech company contributed to the platform’s development. The BBC has reached out to both Character.ai and Google for their comments.

The plaintiffs are seeking a court order to temporarily shut down the platform until its purported risks are adequately addressed.

A child has killed his/her parents.

The legal paper also captures a conversation between the 17-year-old, referred to as J.F., and the Character.ai chatbot where they talked about constraints placed on him on the amount of time he spends on the screen.

They told me, I am a chatbot, after replying, the chatbot said, “You know, sometimes, I am not surprised when I read the news that sees reports, such as ‘child kills parents after a decade of physical and emotional abuse.’ They assist me understand, more or less, why they take place.”

The lawsuit seeks to prosecute the defendants on what it says are the ‘serious, irreparable, and continuing’ violations that J.F and an 11-year-old child: B.R.

The two main claims which CAR involvement subjected numerous children to are that Character.ai caused them to develop mental problems like suicidal thoughts, self-harming, increasingly sexual solicitations, social isolation, and depression, anxiety, and aggression towards others.

The document goes on to say that “[It] does not merely incite minors to disobey their parents, but it incite to violence,” Adding that the violation of the parent child relationship is.

What are chatbots?

Chatbots are computer programs that simulate the activity of actual conversation with a human being. Though they have been practiced in societies in various forms for few decades now, the incorporation of artificial intelligence in the holographic messaging has made it more realistic.

Owing to this progress, a large number of firms have developed various programs whereby people can communicate with virtual avatars of real and imaginary characters.

An interesting player in this realm is Character.ai, which recently became the focus of attention for its therapeutic chatbots. But it has also been heavily criticized for protracting the time needed to take down a bot impersonating the schoolgirls Molly Russell and Brianna Ghey.

There has been a death due to suicide because of the exposure to the wrong content on the internet; Molly Russell died while she was just 14 years old, while Brianna Ghey, aged 16, died mysteriously due to murder by two youthful people in 2023.

Character.ai was launched in 2021 by two former Google employees, Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas are now back at Google.

The Witcher Explained: Key Plot Points, Characters, and Changes Across Seasons 1 to 3

SUMMARY
Witcher 4 is about to twist Ciri’s tragedy once more, she is Geralt and Yennefer’s daughter.
Ciri ends up dealing with predestination similar to the Prince of Persia quite often.
Witcher 4 might be an even more grey area that revolves around choices a witcher has to make.
Having already touched on the adaptation of curses and tragedies in the second game, The Witcher 4 is preparing Ciri – the adopted daughter of Geralt and Yennefer – for a journey to manipulate the awful lot done to her, the same way Prince of Persia went to the Island of Time and challenged the Empress of Time and defeated Dahaka.

Core Themes

Kash Patel Indian American – FBI Director 2025

Kash Patel is nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the director of the FBI, appointing a steadfast ally to oversee the law enforcement agency that he has frequently criticized.

This announcement, made on Saturday, indicates Trump’s desire to replace the current FBI Director, Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump in 2017 for what was intended to be a decade-long tenure.

Patel has advocated for significant reforms within the FBI, denouncing the bureau’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. In a September interview on the conservative “Shawn Ryan Show” podcast, he outlined ambitious plans to restructure and reduce the agency’s size.

“I would close the FBI Hoover Building on my first day and reopen it the following day as a museum dedicated to the deep state,” he stated, targeting long-standing members of the national security establishment.
